A Chalfont Cottage style holiday

At Chalfont Cottage we treat you like one of the family. You're welcome to use the things we have brought over the years to enhance enjoyment of this place.

You need to be self-sufficient. For instance, groceries are almost impossible to get once you're out here. Finally you need to be prepared to clean and tidy at the end of your stay, as if it were your own home, and leave the place as you found it for the next occupants.

The house is comfortable, everything works and we think its set up to pretty much cover most needs but we built the house ourselves and it is a classic Kiwi bach, not an immaculate new holiday house. If that sounds like your style, we'd love to hear from you.

What have others said?

"Another day of perfection and really hot. Went rowing first thing and had a swim before breakfast. Had every meal on the deck today. Played serious croquet this afternoon. Another swim then a game of croquet with our neighbours Jane and Stewart.

Thankyou for allowing us to enjoy your little patch of paradise. It has been very special."

"Just a quick note to tell you what a wonderful time we had at Chalfont Cottage.

It was a treat for my mother who is over here visiting from the UK and she really enjoyed her stay and loved reading the history of the place and your family in your book.

Thanks again for sharing your special place with us"

"We have now returned from our trip to Honeymoon Bay and wish to thank you for giving us the opportunity to stay in such a wonderful place.  The isolation was at first intimidating but was quickly a welcome relief from the hustle and bustle of Christchurch life.  Your home in the Sounds is wonderful and was a welcome reminder of how great life can be in NZ, not to mention a fantastic way to relax and unwind.  Whilst the weather wasn't too flash, we both chilled out and ate and drank far too much.  Even the Wasgij jigsaw couldn't stress us out in the end.  Excellent!

We hope to return for another trip and will be in touch again to make a booking for the new season."
